NBA -- Heat blow 19-point lead, bow to Bulls, 89-78 By Roman David Garay PhilBoxing.com Sat, 11 Apr 2015 ![]() MIAMI- The Chicago Bulls came back from a 19-point first-half deficit by using a 37-8 run to open the second half on Thursday night at the American Airlines Arena. Pau Gasol had 16 points and 15 rebounds while Taj Gibson and Aaron Brooks each had 14 off the bench and the Bulls came from behind to win, 89-78. In his second game after missing 20 games with a meniscus tear, Derrick Rose finished with 12 points and 4 rebounds. Nikola Mirotic had nine points and Mike Dunleavy pumped in 12 for Chicago, which improved to 47-32 and third place in the Eastern Conference standings. After losing to the Orlando Magic the night before, Chicago struggled early and fell to a 51-32 hole against the Heat. But Dunleavy caught fire while the Bulls defense held Miami to just 8 third quarter points. "Once we started getting into them, getting rebounds, containing them to one shot, things turned around," Gasol told reporters after the game. It was a crushing blow to Miami's playoff hopes. The Heat's chances looked dimmer than ever after Thursday night's game. Whiteside led all Heat scorers with 19 points and Goran Dragic added 15 points while Dwyane Wade had a rough night, finishing with just 9 points on 20 percent shooting. Wade however remained hopeful after the game, "We've got 3 games left, as long as we're still in it we'll be good. You just keep coming back until they tell you your season is over. This is not going to detour us from playing our game." The Heat (35-44) will face Toronto at home this Saturday and Bulls will host Philadelphia at the United Center also on Saturday.
