DONAIRE?S FATHER/TRAINER WANTS HIM TO GO ALL OUT By Ronnie Nathanielsz PhilBoxing.com Sun, 15 Mar 2015 The father/trainer of fiove division world champion Nonito ?The Filipino Flash? Donaire wants him ?to go all out? when he battles Brazil?s William Prado on the blockbuster ?Pinoy Pride 30-D DAY? fight card at the famed Smart Araneta Coliseum on March 28. ?Dodong? Donaire Sr told the New Standard/Viva Sports that he doesn?t want Nonito ?to pick his punches but wants him to go all out? against the tough Brazilian who is aggressive. Donaire plans to spar against Roli Gasca and Japanese Ryo Alaho who is also on the March 28 card where he faces Ghana?s Prosper Ankrah for the WBO International bantamweight title. ?Dodong? Donaire Sr said Nonito went ten rounds on Thursday against Mark ?Magnifico? Magsayo, Gasca and Akaho and was ?a little sluggish and was bothered by the heat.? However, he said Nonito ?is picking up? and his ?speed and power are coming back.? The father/trainer revealed that Nonito who is dropping back to the super bantamweight division of 122 pounds after a somewhat disastrous entry into the featherweight division where he suffered a crushing 6th round beating at the hands of a much bigger and stronger Nicholas ?Axe Man? Walters had trimmed down to 132 pounds which he said was ?pretty close? to the super bantamweight limit and he should have no problem making the weight at the official weigh-in on March 27. ALA Gym trainer Edmund Villamor told us that all three headliners ? WBO light flyweight champion Donnie ?Ahas? Nietes, Donaire and IBF Intercontinental junior featherweight champion Prince Albert Pagara were scheduled to be featured in a public workout at the Town Center on Saturday afternoon . While ?Dodong? Domnaire was rather held-back in his comments on Nonito?s sparring Villamor was more outspoken. He said Donaire looked great when he sparred with Akaho last Thursday and ?stopped the Japanese with a body shot? similar with the one which nailed former OPBF champion Jonel Alibio last Thursday at the ALA Gym in Balete Drive, Quezon City after which Alibio told us it hurt badly and predicted that Donaire who was ?fast and hit hard will be world champion once again.? Villamor said Nietes who is in superb condition for his title defense against hard-hitting Mexican Gilberto Parra who has an impressive record of 17 knockouts in 19 wins with only two defeats ?handled the pressure in sparring against undefeated Virgel Vitor well with excellent in an out movements .? As for undefeated Prince Albert Pagara who sparred with Melvin Gumban Villamor said he ?used the ring well? in perfecting his lateral movements.
