TRAINING OF THREE HEADLINERS ON ?PINOY PRIDE 30? FEATURED ON THE MAIN EVENT OVER PBO-SKY CABLE THIS WEEKEN By Ronnie Nathanielsz PhilBoxing.com Thu, 12 Mar 2015 Two weeks from now one of the biggest fight cards in recent years will be held at the Smart Araneta Coliseum. Longest reigning Filipino world champion, WBO light flyweight king Donnie ?Ahas? Nietes, five division world champion Nonito ?The Filipino Flash? Donaire and undefeated rising star Prince Albert Pagara will face formidable opponents. Nietes will go up against Mexico?s Gilberto Parra who has an impressive record of 17 knockouts in 19 wins with only two defeats, Donaire who has a record of 33-3 with 21 knockouts will clash with Brazil?s William Prado whose record is 22-4-1 with 15 knockouts while Pagara will battle tough Rodolfo Hernandez of Mexico who is a power puncher with 24 knockouts in 26 wins with 5 losses and one draw. We will present an insight into the training of the the three Filipino boxers who looked in terrific condition when they worked out at the ALA Gym along Balate Drive in Quezon City before they returned to Cebu to continue training. "The Main Event" is telecast on PBO over Sky Cable at 8:30 p.m. on Saturday with a nreplay at 10:30 a.m. on Sunday. We were particularly interested in seeing how Donaire looked and he didn?t disappoint in a four round sparring session with former OPBF champion Junel Alibio who is a lightweight. The two engaged in some furious exchanges although Donaire was bothered by the heat and the small ring which gave him no room to maneuver. There was one torrid sequence in the 4th round when Nonito rocked Alibio who told us later that he was really hurt. We also have interviews with Donaire and his father/trainer ?Dodong? Donaire and Alibio. In boxing action flyweight Vincent Bautista faces South Korean youngster Suh Da Won in action packed six rounder while rugged flyweight contender Pablito Canada battles rugged Danilo Pena. We will also have an interview with WBO Oriental super flyweight champion Warlito Parrenas who worlked out at the ALA Gym and British trainer Warren Evison about his title eliminator against Northern Ireland?s James ?The Mexican which has been postponed to April 25.
