DIALE?S INDONESIAN OPPONENT SIX POUNDS OVER THE FLYWEIGHT LIMIT By Ronnie Nathanielsz PhilBoxing.com Fri, 30 Jan 2015 The Indonesian opponent of Philippine flyweight champion and OPBF No. 2 ranked Ardin Diale came in six pounds over the limit at the official weigh-in held at the Games and Amusements Board office on Friday. 32 year old southpaw Rommy Wassar tipped the scales at 121 pounds while Diale weighed exactly 115. The fight will go on with Wassar who has a unimpressive record of 11-17-7 with 5 knockouts forced to wear ten ounce gloves in the fight card at the Mandaluyong City Gym on Saturday. The weight advantage of Wassar should prove no problem for the hard-hitting Diale who is looking for a possible rematch against reigning Orient Pacific Boxing Federation champion Koki Eto of Japan to whom he lost by an 8th round knockout in a clash for the vacant crown on June 17 last year in Tokyo. Diale who is ranked No.2 by the OPBF behind Japan?s Takuma Inoue has stayed busy with a series of fights featured on the top rating Viva Sports weekly boxing show ?The Main Event? of the promotional tandem of Edgar De Castro and Ryuta Kato of United Boxing International Promotions. Diale?s clash with Wassar is a ?stay busy? fight in a card headlined by the World Boxing Council Asian Boxing Council light flyweight title champion, undefeated Richard Claveras who has 11 knockouts in 11 wins with 2 draws and Indonesia?s Demsi Manufoe who is a tough southpaw with 9 wins, 6 by and 3 defeats. Both Claveras and Manufoe tipped the scales at exactly 108 pounds. The 26 year old Diale, nicknamed ?The Spoiler? has a record 26-9-3 with 13 knockouts and is coming off a smashing 2nd round knockout of Indonesia?s Ricky Manufoe last December 9 after retaining his Philippine title when young Jenny Boy Buca retired in round ten. It was Diale?s sixth successive title defense after winning the 112 pound belt with a unanimous twelve round decision over Richard Garcia on February 16, 2011. Wassar won his last bout which was an eight rounder against fellow Indonesian Zun Rindam last December 20 after suffering a 2nd round knockout at the hands of Japan?s Ryosuke Iwasa on September 6.
