WBO'S LAST EVENT IN CHINA FOR 2014 AN EXPLOSIVE ONE!

The World Boxing Organization's Asia Pacific arm held its last and final show in China with an explosive bout reflective of its fantastic run in 2014 that had the organization sanctioning bouts in record number for the year 2014.
In a show held last December 27 in Haikou, Chinese bomber Xiang Jing, fighting out of Liu Gang's stable, made closure to his rivalry with Filipino Ben Mananquil, eking out a hard-fought split decision verdict over 12-rounds to win the WBO Asia Pacific flyweight crown.
It was a rematch of their previous outing in July this year held in Chang Sha that ended in a split draw.
The event was supervised by WBO Asia Pacific chairman Leon Panoncillo, who is credited for the organization's major run this year in Asia, including events in Macau that saw Manny Pacquiao and Zou Shiming seeing action.
Mananquil was repeatedly warned for low blows during the fight, said Panoncillo, adding that the result was a fair reflection of the two boxers' effort throughout the 12-round contest.
