NBA -- Hawks' 9-game win streak ends in Orlando By Jose Carlos Monroy PhilBoxing.com Mon, 15 Dec 2014 CLEVELAND -- The 10-16 Orlando Magic played spoiler on Saturday night and ended the Atlanta Hawks' nine-game winning streak with a narrow 100-99 victory at the Amway Center in Orlando, Florida. Tobias Harris nailed a 13-foot jumper as time expired to ground the Hawks. Harris' dagger came after Kyle Korver made a long 3 that handed Atlanta a 99-98 advantage with just 3.4 seconds to go. "That's a shot I'm capable of making. Coach (Jack Vaughn) drew up the play and my teammates trust me to take that shot and to make it," Harris told NBA.com. Besides making the game-winning basket, the 22-year old Harris, a 6-foot-9 small forward and Tennessee alum, also led Orlando with 20 points, six rebounds and five assists. Nikola Vucevic finished with 18 and 11 rebounds and Evan Fournier added 18. Victor Oladipo and Ben Gordon combined for 27. Despite the hiccup, the Hawks remained in third place overall in the Eastern Conference with a 16-7 slate. Jeff Teague was the main man for Atlanta with 24 and eight assists. Al Horford collected 18 and eight boards and Korver contributed 11. It was a bad shooting night for Atlanta, which converted just 35 of 84 shots, including 8-for-27 from 3-point range. But the Hawks put up a good fight, an earnest effort that drew praise from Atlanta head coach Mike Budenhozer. "That was a hell of an NBA game. Both teams made big plays. I'm so proud of my guys, the way they competed," Budenhozer told NBA.com (JCM) Photo: Tobias Harris soars for a dunk and finished with 20 points in the Orlando Magic's 100-99 upset over the Atlanta Hawks.
