MIAMI- Chris Bosh scored 24 of his game-high 34 points in the second half to lead the Miami Heat to a 103-97 victory over the Phoenix Suns at the US Airways Center.
"I just wanted to win really badly," Bosh told the Sun-Sentinel. "We took some steps forward."
Bosh was clutch in the fourth quarter, scoring 10 points including a backbreaking three that pushed Miami's edge 97-91 with 2 minutes and 54 seconds left to play . Loul Deng added 23 points for Miami while Dwyane Wade, despite being slowed down by a headache, chipped in 16 points and dished out 5 assists to help the Heat score their 7th consecutive victory over the Suns.
All Heat starters scored in double digits and they outscored the Suns' starters, 93-42.
"Guys are starting to figure out their roles," Bosh said. "We're getting there."
Phoenix came back from a 7-point third quarter deficit and tied the ballgame at 88-all on a Markieff Morris jumper, but crucial turnovers and timely shots by Bosh put the game out of reach for the hosts.
Phoenix shot 48.1 percent from the field and connected 17 out of 35 shots from beyond the arc. Marcus Morris netted a career-high 25 points as the Morris twins led the way for the Suns with 42 combined points while guard Goran Dragic added 16 points.
Phoenix played without point guard Isiah Thomas (ankle) while Miami continues to miss the services of Chris Anderson due to a high-ankle sprain
Phoenix (12-11) has now dropped its third straight game while Miami halted a four-game losing streak and improved its record to 10-11 for the season. (KC)
