Nietes who defends his title against Mexican banger Carlos Velarde at the Waterfront Hotel and Casino on November 15 is in amazing shape according to strength and conditioning coach Nick Curson and fight fans will get a glimpse of both fighters on Viva Sports top-rated weekly boxing show ?The Main Event? on Pinoy Box Office (PBO) over Sky Cable at 8:30 p.m.on Saturday, Nov. 8, with a replay at 10:30 a.m. on Sunday. The show will feature Nietes? two title defenses against tough Mexican Moises Fuentes as well as his showdown with former Silver champion Sammy Gutierrez, his WBO minimum weight championship victory over Thailand?s Pornsawan Porpramook (Kratingdaenggym), his light flyweight championship win over Ramon Garcia Hirales while we will have highlights of the rugged Velarde, another Mexican warrior, vs Gabriel Ramirez and his title fight against WBA minimum weight champion Ryo Miyazaki. Also featured on the program which precedes the tremendously successful ?Pinoy Pride? series 28th edition at the Waterfront Hotel and Casino on Saturday, November 15 which will be telecast by the giant broadcast network ABS-CBN on its pre-eminent Channel 2 mat 10:15 a.m on Sunday with a replay at 7:00 p.m. on ABS-CBN Sports and Action also on Sunday, will be former world flyweight title challenger Milan Melindo. Strength and conditioning coach Nick Curson has said that Melindo who is moving down to light flyweight and will face world-rated Saul Juarez ?looks very powerful in training .? Highlights of the bull-strong Juarez battling Juan Carlos Ramirez will give fight fans a chance to size up the opponent of Melindo. Nietes is chasing the record set by the illustrious Gabriel ?Flash? Elorde who reigned as world junior lightweight champion for 7 years and 3 months with Nietes achieving a reign as WBO minimum weight and light flyweight champion of 7 years, 1 month and 15 days which puts him just one month and 15 days away from surpassing Elorde?s magnificent achievement.
