JINAN, CHINA - The capital of Shandong province in the eastern part of the Chinese mainland hosted back to back weekend fight cards featuring boxers making their professional debut.

Jinan is also called a Spring City because of its more than seventy artesian springs. This part of China has been inhabited for the past 4000 years.

The fights were held at the Maida Energy Sports Center and was broadcast online. Fans witnessed on the first day four rounders from junior bantamweight to light heavyweight with four abbreviated bouts.

Zeng Yujie opened the evening with a fourth round TKO win Pei Jiahe who was receiving several hard shots prompting referee Surat Soikrachang to call a halt at the 1:21 mark.

Xu Chao used sneaky uppercuts to jolt Ren Zhigang’s head on several occasions. Zhigang had a bloodied nose and taking power shots when referee Han Honxiang halted it at 2:46 of the third round. Wang Zixiang also had a similar victory in his fight against Lu Sishun, this time at 2:09 of the fourth.

The evening was capped by the explosive brawl between light heavyweights Wang Dou and Li Tao, with Wang prevailing in the third after pinning Li on the ropes and landing a series of power shots. Time 0:50.

Other results for day one: Quan Di WUD4 Ni Zhuang, Lu He WUD4 Liu Fuxin , Guo Yuanqing and Liu Hongquan battled to a split draw, Dai Xiang knocked down Zhu Xinyu in the first round and won by unanimous verdict and Wang Lai WUD4 Xiao Mingguang.

The second day of competitions saw eight pairs of boxers from flyweight to middleweight. The fans were very animated and appreciated the competitive back and forth action.

The best fight of the two-day affair was the bloody brawl between super featherweights Gao Yiping and Peng Yong. Peng had to fight through a bloodied nose from the second round onwards but both boxers traded punch for punch until the final bell. Gao was also bleeding from the mouth and the crowd gave them a well deserved ovation after their struggle.

The scores Han Hongxiang and Li Xiaolong – 40-36, Chen Zhiwei- 38-38 with Gao the winner by majority decision.

For the other results of the second day: Zhao Zhouyang WUD 4 Jiang Kecheng, Li Chuan WMD4 Zhao Long, Ma Gean WUD4 Cheng Yingyuan, Zhao Junhui WTKO 2 Zhang Peng, Li Wentao WSD4 Du Tao, Dong Youli WTKO1 Wei Jiagui and Yu Mengqiang WRTD2 Zhang Shuo .
