Ruenroeng 109, Arroyo 111 for IBF World Title Wednesday in Thailand By Carlos Costa PhilBoxing.com Tue, 09 Sep 2014 ![]() Ruenroeng and Arroyo easily made weight on first try. Unbeaten IBF Flyweight World Champion Amnat Ruenroeng (L) of Thailand scaled-in at 109 lbs (49.5 kgs) while hard-hitting challenger McWilliams Arroyo (15-1, 13 KOs) of Puerto Rico made 111 lbs (50.35 kgs) ahead of their world title clash Wednesday afternoon at the Liptapanlop Hall in Nakhon Ratchasima, Kingdom of Thailand. The Thai seems slightly taller than the Boricua boxer; both warriors looking focus and in excellent shape. The fight will be the second title defense for 34 year-old Ruenroeng (13-0, 5 KOs) who captured the vacant IBF world title with a victory over ALA fighter Rocky Fuentes. The Thai's first defense was a razor-thin split decision win over the highly regarded Japanese 2-division world champion Kazuto Ioka (14-1, 9 KO's) last May in Osaka, Japan. Meanwhile, the challenger Arroyo, 28, born in Ceiba, Puerto Rico, earned the right to challenge Ruenroeng thanks to a crushing round two TKO win over Filipino Froilan "The Sniper" Saludar (19-1-1, 12 KO's) last June in Bayamon, Puerto Rico. The fight officials are referee Pat Russell of California, USA. Judges: Ben Keilty of Australia, Filipino-American Jonathan Davis and Ignatius Missailidis of Melbourne, Australia. The battle, which is a rumble between former Olympians, will take place at 3pm, the usual time for boxing in the Kingdom of Thailand.
