INTERNATIONAL BOXING THIS TUESDAY IN POLOMOLOK, SOUTH COTABATO By Carlos Costa PhilBoxing.com Sat, 06 Sep 2014 Tabugon. International boxing is back in Polomolok with an exciting splash. In the main event this Tuesday (Sep 9) at Polomolok's Municipal Gym, the reigning WBC Asian Flyweight Champ Ray Tabugon will clash in a 10-rounder non-title rumble against dangerous Thailander Kaichon Sor Vorapin, a seasoned former muay thai combatant eager to teach a fighting lesson to the younger Filipino. In fact, the former WBO Asia Pacific titlist, Sor Vorapin (25-12, 9 KO's) who hails from the northeastern amphoe of Dan Khun Thot in the Kingdom of Thailand, is no stranger to mixing it up against tough Pinoys warriors, having scored wins over some of them, including wins over Rey Megrino and ALA boxer Rocky Fuentes (defeated Fuentes twice). A veteran of bloody wars, Sor Vorapin might not be now in the prime of his boxing career. But his experience is still there intact, a reason for the 23-year-old Tubugon (13-3-1, 5 KO's) to battle extremely careful and focused as a defeat to the Thailander at this stage of his career would be a huge loss in many ways. Will Tabugon do the job? Or will the Thai fighter dig down into his boxing savvy to dominate the up-and-coming Pinoy? We'll find out. EXCITING CO-MAIN EVENT In the co-main event, hard-hitting World Boxing Federation International (WBF) super flyweight ruler Daryl "Flash" Basadre (12-1-1, 9 KO's) of Cagayan de Oro, who has scored exciting knock out wins in his last three combats, will square off tough Davae?o veteran Philip Parcon in a non-title 8-round rumble. Will the younger "Flash" Basadre dismantle the tough journeyman of 46 fights? Or will the confusing southpaw moves of the old warrior Parcon confuse Basadre, making him pay dearly? ENTERTAINING UNDERCARDS In a battle of southpaws, the "Gensan Hittman" JR Edurot (9-2, 8 KO's) will aim at knocking out Butuan warrior Rolando Omela during their scheduled six round war in the featherweight division. In addition, Jr. Flyweight Ronnie Tanallon (4-1, 1 KO), in his fifth fight this year, will exchange knuckles with brave debutant Ryan Bahala in 4-round war. Will the debutant Bahala stop the more experienced Tanallon? Also, 21-year-old hard-swinging Davae?o Engelbert Moralde (7-2, 5 KOs) is set to mix it up against Paul Apolinario (10-11-2, 6 KO's) of Maasim, Sarangani, in an 8-rounder in the bantamweight division. Two more bouts complete the card. The boxing event this coming Tuesday (Sep 9) in Polomolok is another production of Gensan promoter Jim Claude Manangquil of JM Promotions.
