AVALOS STOPS ISHIMOTO

MACAU - Chris 'Hitman' Avalos of the U.S. beat Yasutaka Ishimoto of Japan by TKO in the eighth round of an IBF jr.featherweight eliminator.
Ishimoto was dropped by a hard right in the opening round but he slowly worked his way back into the fight. Avalos turned up his offense in the 4th and landed a series of hooks to the head.
Avalos had the clear edge in the power department but the Japanese bravely tried to match him punch for punch.
Avalos continued to dish out punishment in the subsequent rounds and knocked down Ishimoto again in the 8th.The Japanese cornerman wisely signaled the referee that his fighter has had enough.
Time - 44 seconds.
Ik Yang of China relied on powerful right hand leads to knock down Geisler AP of Indonesia twice in the opening round en route to a TKO win. The referee stopped the bout at the 2:24 mark.
