KHAN SCORES 3 KD ON COLLAZO FOR A HOMERUN UD WIN
PhilBoxing.com Sun, 04 May 2014

MGM GRAND GARDEN ARENA, LAS VEGAS -- Amir Khan (29-3-0, 19KO) of Bolton, UK, defeated Luis Collazo (35-6-0, 18KO) of Queens, New York by a wide margin with scores of 117-106, and 119-104 twice. Khan scored with fast combinations repeatedly throughout the night capitalizing on his great boxing skill as the flat-footed Collazo could not cope up with Khan's fast hands and footwork. Collazo was down once in the fourth round and twice in the tenth and was deducted a point for low blow in the 8th as Khan frustrated him throughout the night. Khan however was hit with several solid shots by Collazo in the course of the fight and looked vulnerable at times against the heavy-handed Collazo. Khan was deducted a point for excessive holding in the 8th round.
After the fight, Khan challenged Floyd Mayweather Jr who is fighting Marcos Maidana in the main event.
