NBA Playoffs -- Nets fend off elimination, force Game 7
By Raman Sharma PhilBoxing.com Sat, 03 May 2014

BROOKLYN -- The Brooklyn Nets came out firing and pulled ahead early, thanks to a 34-19 first quarter outburst.
The quick start led 97-83 victory over the Toronto Raptors in Game 6 of the Eastern Conference quarterfinals Friday night at Barclays Center here in in Brooklyn, New York.
The Nets relied heavily on veterans Kevin Garnett and Paul Pierce, both of whom were noticeably benched during the fourth quarter of Brooklyn's Game 5 loss in Toronto. Both veterans played all 12 minutes of the first quarter to set the tone for the game.
Nets head coach Jason Kidd told reporters before the game that they would have to be aggressive early and it was apparent that his team listened. The Nets led by as much as 26 points in the third period.
All-Star point guard Deron Williams had 23 points in Brooklyn's balanced attack which saw three other Nets score double figure in points --- Joe Johnson, Pierce and Garnett)
The Toronto Raptors were paced by All-Star DeMar DeRozan's 28 points. Point guard Kyle Lowry had a poor shooting night and was limited to 11 points. No other Raptor reached double digit scoring.
The Nets will face the Raptors in a winner-take-all game 7 on Sunday, May 4, 2014 in Toronto, Canada.
