THURMAN REGISTERS 21ST STOPPAGE WIN AFTER DIAZ QUIT IN 3RD

CARSON, CA -- Julio Diaz of Cochella, CA (40-10-1-29KO) suffered a rib injury after a knockdown in round 2 and gave up on his stool at the end of round 3 in his fight against Keith Thurman of Clearwater, FL (23-0-0, 21KO). Thurman thus earned the interim WBA Welterweight title at the Stubhub Center here Saturday night.
