RESULTS FROM "FIGHT FURY' IN PINAMUNGAHAN

CEBU - Jahleel Payao of the Omega gym beat Nicong Calamba of Gensan by ten round unanimous decision in the main event of a fight card held Wednesday April 23 in the municipality of Pinamungahan,Cebu. Payao scored a knockdown in the second.
Payao was awarded the PBF super flyweight belt. All three judges, Arnie Najera, Salven Lagumbay and Ben Necesario had it 99-90.
In what was the most competitive fight of the evening, Jason Redondo of the ST stable won by unanimous decision against Alvin Makiling of Bukidnon. It was a toe to toe struggle from start to finish with both boxers swinging for the fences. Makiling was knocked down in the third from a quick counter while he pinned Redondo against the ropes.
The scores - Tony Pesons - 97-92, Salven Lagumbay 95-94, Arnie Najera 95-94. Redondo was presented the PBF featherweight belt. Neil John Tabanao won by TKO in the 6th round against Bonnie Makiling, Brandon Tabares knocked out Marlou Talili in the second round, Salatiel Amit and Michael Kaibigan fought to a majority draw, scores - Necesario - 58-56, Najera and Lagumbay - 57-57.
Kenan Villaflor won by TKO in the 5th round against Robert Awetin, Jerry Castroverde won a narrow split verdict against Michael Manambay; Castroverde was knocked down in the sixth round but referee Tony Pesons later on deducted a point from Manambay for excessive holding.
The scores - S.Lagumbay 38-37 for Manambay, A. Najera and B.Necesario 38-37 for Castroverde. Marjun Patilgan won by TKO in the third against Albert Muring.
The fight card was presented by International Pharmaceuticals Inc.(IPI) and the Omega Boxing Gym.
