NBA - Pelicans end a tough season with a victory over Rockets, 105-100

New Orleans ? The New Orleans Pelicans ended their season with a flourish Wednesday night, beating the Houston Rockets, 105-100, at the Smoothie King Center.
The Pelicans closed out the 2013-2014 regular season with a 34-48 record, 12th place in the Western Conference and out of the playoffs race.
Tyreke Evans once again led the team with 25 points, 10 assists, and 6 rebounds. Austin Rivers contributed 18 points with 8 assists while Anthony Morrow added 15. Alexis Ajinca chipped in 11.
?We had the chance to enjoy tonight?s game before going to the off-season. We?re really happy about how our guys played, that they can keep like that, up to the last minute of the season, it just show who we are as a program. And that?s how we played for the whole year.? Pelicans head coach Monty Williams said.
Most of New Orleans' key players has been on and off during the season due to injury, F Ryan Anderson, G Jrue Holiday (stress fracture, right tibia), F/C Jason Smith (right knee cartilage), G Eric Gordon (left knee tendonitis), and F/C Anthony Davis (back spasms) which held them to a very challenging position.
Troy Daniels, who hit six 3s, finished the game with 22 points for the Rockets. Terrence Jones had 17, Jordan Hamilton and Patrick Beverley both added14. They rested James Harden, Jeremy Lin, and Chandler Parsons. (AIJ)
