NBA -- Pelicans beat Jazz for 5th straight win
By Absalon Inocian, Jr. PhilBoxing.com Sun, 30 Mar 2014

NEW ORLEANS ? Despite Anthony Davis leaving the game at the 3:43 mark of the first quarter with a left ankle injury, the hot New Orleans Pelicans grabbed their 5th win streak Friday night.
Tyreke Evans scored 22 points and passed a career-high 15 assists as the Pelicans beat the Utah Jazz, 105-92, at the Smoothie King Center. Anthony Morrow added 20 while Al Farouq Aminu finished with 13 and the Pelicans improved to 32-40 for the season.
?He?s so big he can see over the other guards, it gives him the ability to find guys, and he?s always a threat to make a basket, and that helps.? New Orleans head coach Monty Williams, referring to Evans playing as a point guard and achieving a career-high in assists.
?It?s great and I don?t take it for granted. It?s a blessing to have all that. I?m not kicking that under the curve or around the corner, I mean it?s good that we?re winning these many games in a row and we?re moving on that direction. But I am more concerned on the things that we didn?t do well on the 2nd half, the defense they scored a lot of points on the 2nd half. We need to get better defensively,? he added.
The visiting Utah Jazz was led by 6-8 Gordon Hayward's 21 points and seven dimes. Derrick Favors added 18 and 11 boards. (AIJ)
