NEW ORLEANS -- Anthony Davis scored a new career-high in points but the New Orleans Pelicans still couldn't get past the Portland Trail Blazers, 111-103, at the Smoothie King Center.

Tyreke Evans finished with 16 points, eight rebounds and eight assists for New Orleans while Brian Roberts and Eric Gordon tallied 19 and 16 points respectively.
Damian Lillard led visiting Portland with 27 points and five assists. Nicolas Batum had 22 points and 18 rebounds while Wesley Matthews added 20 Robin Lopez chipped in 19 points and Dorell Wright had 15.
After snapping a four-game slide, the Blazers improved to 43-23 for second place in the Northwest Division and fifth overall in the Western Conference. Losers of two straight, the Pelicans dropped to 26-39 for 12th place in the West. (AIJ)
