Asis vows he will never leave a decision in the judge?s hands again

PhilBoxing.com

Asis.
As the clock winds down on yet another fight camp, Jack ?The Assassin? Asis has spoken out about his heart break after his last fight. Asis, who headed the ?Smithy brings the big fights 5? bill, was given a controversial majority draw which meant neither he or opponent Hirohito Fukuhara left the venue with the title belt which was on the line.

Asis, who has had 52 professional bouts said, ?I?ve never won a fight so convincingly and felt I?ve been robbed. I?ve copped some bad decisions in my life, but never when it?s been in my home town against a foreigner. If this fight was in Japan, in his backyard then this result is understandable, but when you beat a guy so bad that even he knows I was hard done by, some questions have to be asked of the judges. Either way, it has taught me a valuable lesson and I will never leave it in the judge?s hands again.?

Asis? trainer and show promoter Brendon Smith said, ?We were all so shocked when they read the scores out, we were fighting for a WBC regional title to get Jack a top 10 world rating and we had two officials scored this fight a draw, which was very surprising. Even when I spoke to the referee after the fight and questioned why he was so harsh in taking a point from Jack, his response was, ?It won?t matter, Jack is a mile in front anyway.? The crowd?s reaction to the scores said it all with boos crying around the venue when both fighters? hands were raised. Jack won that fight well and truly and I was dumb founded that only one out of the three judges scored the fight the right way.?

Asis is now set to take on the number 1 rated featherweight in Indonesia, Arief Blader on Friday night. Asis finished in saying, ?My preparation for this fight has been great, with the result of the last fight still ringing hard in my head; I can?t wait to show my fans and my town of Toowoomba that the last result was only a speed bump. I?ll be back to my work Friday night and I?m ready to give the fans the show they want to see.?

This fight will take place on the undercard of ?Smithy Brings the Big Fights 6? which will be headlined by the return of Michael Katsidis ?The Great? vs tough Indonesian Eddy Comaro. As well as this undefeated local star and current WBC world youth featherweight champ ?The Great White? Brayd Smith against dangerous Argentine Jose Saez. Undefeated local KO artist ?The Fighting Fisherman? Kris George will put his ?0? on the line against fellow undefeated boxer Ozan ?Crash? Craddock for the Queensland Welterweight title. Running champion and crowd favorite Tressa ?T-rex? Lindenberg will also return to the ring.
