?SMITHY BRINGS THE BIG FIGHTS 6? CARD LOCKED IN
PhilBoxing.com Tue, 25 Feb 2014
Three domestic matchups are set to round out the professional card of ?Smithy Brings the big fights 6?.
The first will be a much anticipated rematch between Rosewood?s
Olaf Olsen and Toowoomba?s Graham Blay. The pair first met
at the fight day in Smithy?s Gym at the end of last year that saw the Brandon Wood trained Graham Blay snatch the decision in a close bout, handing Olsen his first professional defeat.
There is no doubt Olsen will be out to avenge this loss on March 14. Toowoomba?s ?Little Hitman? Cory Hess, trained by Craig Monagle, will make his return to the professional ring when he takes on Melbourne?s Robert Monnito. Hess, who was a stellar amateur, has only had one professional fight where he was narrowly defeated in Sydney by the local fighter. However he says he has learnt a lot from that experience and is ready to turn the tide when he faces the much more experienced Robert Monnito.
In a battle of the Toowoomba featherweights, Smithy?s Gym?s Sam ?The Wounded Bull? Williams will make his pro debut when he faces Fighting Fit?s Dave Smith. Williams, who is never afraid of a challenge, amateur record boasts a whose who of Australian amateur boxing but he now has his sights set on the pros. He will be giving up a lot of experience when he fights Dave Smith who has been in one some of Australia?s best professional boxers.
These three fights will round out what promoter Brendon Smith is calling the biggest night of fights Toowoomba has seen.
