World Boxing Organization (WBO) Asia Pacific bantamweight king Marlon Tapales outclassed Indonesian Galih Susanto, who kept on eluding him in their 10-round non-title fight held Saturday night at the Almendras gym here. Tapales landed solid left-right jabs but could not finish it with a knockout as the Indonesian kept on running away from the Filipino pug. Tapales, however,knocked down Susanto in the 8th round with a vicious right. Susanto tried to unleash his left-right combinations but failed to hit Tapales. ?Nahirapan akong ma-knockout siya kasi panay takbo,? said Tapales in a post-fight interview. Six of the 10 other bouts ended via a knockout or technical knockout. Jonel Dapidran, a nephew of 8-division world champion Manny ?Pacman? Pacquiao, who promoted the boxing card, scored a knockout against Joefil Camocamo of Iligan City in 1:45 of the first round. ?May lakas talaga si Dapidran,? said Pacquiao?s assistant trainer Nonoy Neri. Dapidran posted his third straight win against no loss or draw while Camocamo suffered his third defeat in five fights. Seven other fighters from MP Boxing Stable also scored contrasting wins. Aston ?Deigo Corales? Palicte stopped Dipolog?s Michael Bastasa in 1;33 of the 1st round to improve his ring record to 12 wins, 1 loss with 10 KOs. Australia-based Joevert delos Reyes landed powerful combinations to stop Lanao del Norte?s Roland Teofilo in 1:21 also in the opening round. Delos Reyes, who is being groomed for a possible world-title slot now has 15 wins, 3 loses and 8 KOs. Marvilou Aballe, Jay-Ar Inson, John Philip Fuentes, Genesis Libranza and Dandey de Claro also won for the Davao-based MP Boxing Stable. Aballe TKO?d Zamboanga?s Reynold Salon in 54 seconds of the 2nd round. Inson stopped Butuan?s Eddie Gomez in 59 seconds of 1st round. Libranza pummelled to submission Johnny Belo of General Santos City in 2:15 of the 2nd round. Fuentes and de Claro both won by unanimous decisions over Gensan?s Jan-Jan Santos and Davao?s Frejun dela Cruz, respectively. In other fights, Cagayan de Oro?s Rey Las Pinas and Lipa City?s Jorny Gimeno settled to a majority draw; Iligan?s Edward Mancito won by a unanimous decision over Cebu?s Kenny Demecillo. MP Promotions USA, LLC representative Joe Ramos said that they will again promote boxing in Davao after their successful card held in coordination with the Joven Sports Promotion of Joven Jimenez.
