Reigning World Boxing Organization (WBO) Asia Pacific bantamweight champion Marlon Tapales of Davao City will now defend his title against Galih Susanto of Yogyakarta, Indonesia on Saturday. Feb. 8 at 6 p.m. at the Almendras gym. Susanto is a late substitute for the Mexican challenger Noe Martinez Raygoza, who backed out in the last minute according to the MP Promotions USA, LLC. Susanto has a record of six wins against three loses with no draw. Susanto fought but lost for the PABA super flyweight title via unanimous decision against Dekaosan Kaovichit in Bangkok, Thailand last January 4, 2013. Hecame back strong with back-to-back victories against Dicky Amtiran and John Bajawa last year before losing again to Japanese Kenji Kubo in Tokyo, Japan last May 28, 2013. Tapales of the Wakee Salud Stable will be making his first title-defense. The 21-year old Tapales won the vacant title via a unanimous decision over Fredirex Rodriguez last August 1, 2013 at the Cebu City Waterfront Hotel & Casino in Cebu City. Tapales knocked down once Rodriguez in the sixth round on that fight. Before that, Tapales (23 wins, 9 KOs, 2 loses), stopped Ruben Manakane in the fourth round by a technical knocked out at Sangyo Hall, Kanazawa, Ishikawa in Japan. Raygoza is toting an impressive ring record of 16 wins with 9 KOs and 5 loses. Pitted in the main supporting event is the 4-rounder bout between undefeated Jonel Dapidran (2 wins, 0 loss or draw) of MP Boxing Stable against Joefil Camocamo (3 wins, 2 loses, o draw) of Palafox Stable-Iligan City in the 136-pound division. Four other boxers from the Davao City-based MP Boxing Stable will also see action in the undercard. They are Joevert delos Reyes (14W, 7KO, 3L, 0D) vs. Roland Teofilo (6W, 2KO, 7L, OD) of Zamboanga Stable (8 rds.-135 lbs.); Marvilou Aballe (1W, 1KO, 0L) vs. Reynold Salon (1W,0L) of Zamboanga Boxing Gym (4 rds.-119 lbs.); Jay-Ar Inson (1W, 0L, 0D) vs. Eddie Gomez (1W, 0L) of Butuan (4 rds.-135 lbs.); John Philip Fuentes vs. Ryan Bajala (1W) of Llagas Stable-Butuan (4 rds.-105 lbs.); Genesis Libranza vs. Jessie James Boyles (4 rds.-108 lbs.); Dandey de Claro vs. Frejun dela Cruz (4 rds.-111 lbs.).
