NBA -- Raptors devour Nets in heartbreaking loss for Brooklyn, 104-103

BROOKLYN - The Toronto Raptors stole a hard fought win, 104-103, at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn Monday night against the Brooklyn Nets, leaving the home crowd stunned.
The Raptors were led by point guard Kyle Lowry's 31 points, seven dishes, and five steals. Lowry's biggest assist of the game went to forward Patrick Patterson for the game winning jumper in the final seconds. Patterson finished with 15 points. Center Jonas Valanciunas recorded a double-double, dropping 20 points and 13 boards.
With 12 seconds to play and the Nets leading 103-102, Nets point guard Deron Williams threw a lazy careless inbound pass that was intercepted at half court by the Raptors' Patrick Patterson. Patterson passed to point guard Kyle Lowery who gave it right back to Patterson for the go-ahead jumpshot to put the Raptors on top 104-103. The Nets would respond with Paul Pierce taking an off-balance long jumpshot for the win which would clank off the rim as the final buzzer sounded.
The Nets were paced by a game-high 33 points from Pierce while Andray Blatche chipped in off the bench to contribute 20 points.
The win improved the Atlantic Division leading Toronto Raptors record to 23-21. The Nets drop to a record of 20-23 and now sit two and a half games behind the Raptors. (RS)
