FDNY BRAVEST BOXERS BATTLE THE IRISH NATIONAL POLICE FORCE?S GARDA BOXING CLUB
PhilBoxing.com Tue, 28 Jan 2014
The FDNY Bravest Boxing team will take on the Irish National Police Force?s Garda Boxing Club at Webster Hall on Thursday, March 6 at 7 p.m. The evening will include 12 three-round matches featuring FDNY members versus Irish Police Officers. This is the first of two meetings this year, as the FDNY team will head to Dublin in October for another night of fights. Members of the two Departments have previously fought at the World Police and Fire Games.
Funds raised from the event will benefit Building Homes for Heroes, a group which helps severely wounded veterans and their families rebuild their lives. Each year, the FDNY Boxing team competes in several amateur boxing matches against other Fire Department and Police Departments from around the world. In the past several years, the FDNY Bravest Boxing team has donated over $50,000 to military related charities.
The Bravest Boxing team consists of FDNY members who train for their grueling matches on their own time and live by the motto that they?ll fight ?anyone, anywhere, anytime, as long as it?s for a good cause!? Tickets are available at www.fdnyboxing.eventbrite.com.
WHERE: Webster Hall ? 125 East 11th Street, Manhattan
