NBA -- Knicks eclipse the Suns, 98-96, in overtime

NEW YORK -- The New York Knicks extended their win streak to five straight games Monday night by beating the Phoenix Suns in overtime, 98-96, at the Madison Square Garden.
However, it was not an easy win against a hard-nosed Suns team who pushed the game to overtime.
All-Star forward Carmelo Anthony was stellar leading the Knicks with 29 points and 16 rebounds, both of which were game-highs. Point guard Raymond Felton was instrumental with 19 points.
The Suns were led by Goran Dragic's 28 points. Leandro Barbosa scored 21 points, including two free throws at the end of regulation to send the game into overtime.
The Knicks defense has become very tenacious as of late, holding opponents to an average of 89 points over their last five games. Knicks head Coach Mike Woodson told reporters, "It was a total team effort tonight but it was our defense coming down the stretch that secured the win."
Knicks center Tyson Chandler (upper respiratory tract infection) missed his fourth straight game, but hopes to join the team Tuesday night in Charlotte as the Knicks battle the Bobcats.
