NBA -- Warriors hope to extend win streak to four
By Emerald Miller PhilBoxing.com Fri, 27 Dec 2013
SAN FRANCISCO -- The Golden State Warriors, winners of three straight, will try to extend that streak further when they host their last game of the year against the Phoenix Suns Friday night at the Oracle Arena.
The Suns, however, will be a tough assignment. Phoenix has won eight of its last nine games to move into second place in the Pacific Division with a 17-10 record.
Phoenix is looking to beat Golden State for the second time in two weeks. This will be the second of four games both teams will play against each other during the season.
The Suns have had a three-day holiday break coming off a win against the Lakers on Monday while the Warriors fought a hard battle against the Clippers Christmas night with a 105-103 victory.
The Warriors are seeking to improve their turnover ratio, as they are one of several teams in the league with the most turnovers a game averaging 17.1. They are 7-0 when finishing with less than 15 turnovers a game.
Head coach Mark Jackson believes the key to games start with Stephen Curry and his reduction of turnovers. Golden State is 11-0 when Curry has fewer than three turnovers. On the December 15 loss to the Suns, Curry committed six of the his team's 20 turnovers. (EM)
