Mayweather Jr. taunts Pacquiao with holiday meme

PhilBoxing.com

It looks like the Christmas spirit may have gotten to Floyd Mayweather Jr. too - or so it seems.

The undefeated boxing champ, who alongside off-ring rival, Manny Pacquiao has once again permeated the world of boxing with rumors and speculations about their fight that can't seem to happen.

With two days before Christmas, the welterweight and junior middleweight champ tweeted a "Christmas card" slash Internet meme to his fans and followers that pokes fun at Pacquiao.

Pacquiao who resurrected his career with a spectacular ring performance last month in Macao, China has once again emerged as the favorite by the fans and the media as the fighter they wanted Mayweather Jr. to face next.

He overcome his knockout loss in the hands of Juan Manuel Marquez last year, one which was featured in the Mayweather Jr. meme, with a dominating win over Brandon Rios last November.

The World Boxing Council (WBC), in it's recent rankings, made the Filipino superstar the Number 1 contender to Mayweather's 147 pound belt in an attempt to make the fight happen.

Mayweather Jr. questioned the move by the the WBC and even stated in a recent interview that he'll have no hesitation to relinquish the belt if the organization pursues the fight.

Mayweather Jr. preserved his unbeaten record with two outstanding showings this year. He is likely to face former former 140 pound champ, Amir Khan of England next.

The fight between Mayweather Jr. and Pacquiao would have been the biggest match in boxing both financially and commercially - if only the two camps can agree on two issues that has prevented the fight from happening.

Drug testing was the first, purse split was the second.

Mayweather Jr. in the past called Pacquiao and offered him $40 million to fight him, which the Filipino superstar turned down, as Pacquiao wanted an even split of the revenue.

The tweet/meme shows this and makes additional fun of Pacquiao by showing him praying to the heavens for Mayweather Jr. to offer him again the same amount of money to fight him.

Pacquiao has been involved in a recent tax dispute in the Philippines and the IRS will reportedly be pursuing the same issue against him in the United States.

This makes people speculate, including Mayweather Jr himself, that Pacquiao is in desperate need of a huge payday to offset his tax woes.

And nothing can be bigger than a mega-fight between Mayweather Jr. and him.

Mayweather Jr. has taunted Pacquiao in the past, via Tweeter and You Tube. His racially colored remarks earned him criticisms in the past.

Today, he is back for more against his off-ring rival.

Mayweather's holiday message posted on his twitter account.
