NBA -- Curry explodes for 28 points as Warriors whip Pelicans
By Laurence Agbulos PhilBoxing.com Thu, 19 Dec 2013

OAKLAND -- The Golden State Warriors responded to head coach Mark Jackson?s public criticism about player?s efforts by whipping the New Orleans Pelicans, 104-93, Tuesday night at the Oracle Arena.
After missing the last previous 12 games due to an injured hamstring, Andre Iguodala returned to action and finished with a modest two points and two assists. Iguodala's presence has been sorely missed the last several games where the Warriors seemed to lack effort. He led the Warriors in plus-20 in the 17 minutes he was on the floor.
Through the first three quarters Golden State reduced its turnovers and capitalized on fast break points, outscoring Pelicans 16-3. They led by as many as 26 points while holding the Pelicans to 37.5 percent shooting from the field.
David Lee posted his sixth straight double-double with 21 points and 17 rebounds along with Andrew Boguts eight points and 10 rebounds, his sixth straight game with over 10 rebounds.
Point guard Stephen Curry is currently holding a career-best streak as well as the league's longest current streak with his 11th straight 20-point game, finishing with 28 points and 12 assists.
The Pelicans played minus center Anthony Davis (broken left hand) and point guard Tyreke Evans (sprained left ankle). The Pelicans struggled to develop any type of offensive flow throughout the game as Curry had an answer for what was even close to a run the Pelicans started.
Ryan Anderson finished with 21 points and six rebounds along with Jason Smith's 12 points.
?Just had a bad game from the start? Monty Wiliams coach of Pelicans said.
Warriors are able to finally impress their head coach. ?It was great to defend, execute, and take care of the basketball? Tonight was a great step forward,? said Mark Jackson. (LA)
