NBA -- Nets thrash 76ers 130-94
By Raman Sharma PhilBoxing.com Tue, 17 Dec 2013

NEW YORK -- Shooting guard Joe Johnson drilled 10 3-pointers to lead host Brooklyn Nets to a 130-94 victory over the visiting Philadelphia 76ers Monday night at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn.
After a slow start to the season that placed them at the bottom of the Atlantic Division, the Nets have won four of their last five games and are only two games behind the division leading Boston Celtics.
The story of the night was Johnson, who scored 29 of his game-high 37 points in the third quarter, his career high for any quarter. Deron Williams orchestrated the Nets' attack with 13 points and 13 assists. Andray Blatche chipped in with 20 points.
James Anderson led Philadelphia with 17 points. The 76ers dropped their seventh straight game overall and tonight's game also marked their 10th straight road loss.
The Nets were without center Brook Lopez for the second straight game. The 76ers' promising young rookie Michael Carter-Williams missed his seventh consecutive game with a skin infection. (RS)
