Kasim Ouma's comeback start Wednesday in Allentown LIVE on GFL.tv! PhilBoxing.com Tue, 10 Dec 2013 On December 11th Boxing finally returns to, one of the oldest Boxing venues in the Lehigh Valley, the EconoLodge and Conference Center in Allentown, PA. The incredible night of boxing action will be broadcasting LIVE around the WORLD on GFL.tv! Returning to the ring for the 1st time in over 2 years will be former Jr Middleweight Champion & Former Middleweight title challenger, Kasim Ouma (27-8-1). Ouma, who was once a Ugandan child soldier before becoming a pro boxer, has had many ups & downs throughout his career. In 2004, he defeated Verno Phillips (38-8-1) to capture the IBF Jr. Middleweight title. A title he successfully defended once before dropping a 12 round decision to Roman Karmazin in 2005. In 2006, Ouma had his best year defeated former World Title challenger Marco Antonio Rubio (34-2-1) as well as highly touted then Undefeated prospect Sechew Powell (20-0) on HBO. Those fights led to a 2006 showdown with WBC & WBO Middleweight Champion Jermaine Taylor (25-0-1), in which Ouma dropped a 12 round decision. After the Taylor fight, Ouma lost 5 out of 7 fights to former IBF Jr Middleweight champion Cornelius Bundradge (27-3), also former world title challengers Gabe Rosado (11-3), a highly controversial decision to Vanes Martirosyan (26-0) and WBA Middleweight champion Gennady Golovkin. To this day many believe the fight between the phenom Golovkin and Ouma was Golovkin's toughest test to date. Ouma is content with putting loses such as Rosado, Martirosyan, and especially Bundrage behind him because he feels the loses were to guys not on his level. Even though, he would like to leave those loses in his past he hasn't totally ruled out rematches. "I really don't count that fight with Cornelius Bundradge. He is not really a high caliber fighter compared to me. If I fight him again I will crush him quick just to prove to the world that he doesn't belong in there with me. I am not sure it will happen because i am really looking forward to fighting better fighters in my comeback," said Ouma. Even though it is not on Ouma's game plan now if the fight was for a title eliminator of some sorts he mind will change. "Yes! That would make it worth it for me. I would love it. I pray to get a shot like that." Ouma has taken a much needed break from the ring and is returning better then ever when he faces Rahman Mustafa Yusubov (9-12). Yusubov has been in the ring with a who's who list in the 154/160 divisions. Yusubov is a guy who always shows up to fight and will try to pull the "Upset of the Year" when he faces Ouma on December 11th. Ouma, who has been out of the ring for over 2 & 1/2 years, feels completely rejuvenated and his training camp, he feels, has shown that. "Well training camps is very very good. I am glad you asked. It is very very good. I am ready to make it happen. I have been training for 3 months right now. I haven't fought in a long time so I have been training for 3 months," explained Ouma. Ouma knows an impressive victory on December 11th, LIVE around the WORLD on GFL.tv, could begin to lay the blueprint for his comeback and 2014. "My blueprint for 2014 is to become a World Champion. I also want to fight in bigger fights and send my kids to college." Ouma exclaims, "Fans can expect that Kasim is back! Fans that have believed in me will know that I am back and fans who don't believe in me will know that I am back. I know that I can still do it. I am coming back at 154 pounds to prove I am back and I still have it in me!" The main event will see Tevin "The American Idol" Farmer (13-4-1) step in the ring for his 7th time in 2013 against battle tested veteran Carlos Vinan (10-11-5), Farmer, who is one the Philadelphia area's top prospects, is on a 6 fight winning streak (all in 2013) since dropping a tough lose to undefeated prospect Jose Pedraza (10-0) to close out 2012. Farmer, who has been incredibly impressive lately, will face the extremely tough and cagey veteran Carlos Vinan (10-11-5). Vinan, don't let his record fool you, has shared the ring with a who's who in former champions, title challengers, and prospects in his divsion. Vinan, as always, will put in all on the line to snap his 2 fight losing skid when he meets Farmer. Both men are meeting at the proverbial crossroads in their careers, but one thing is for sure. You can expect FIREWORKS. This Wednesday, December 11th, joining the Main Event Tevin Farmer against Carlos Vinan & co-main event Kasim Ouma against Rahman Yusubov (9-12) over the course of 6 rounds will be "Green Blood" fighters Anthony Cacace & Tyrone McKenna who will fight in separate bouts. Also undefeated heavyweights Anthony "Jucie" Young (9-0) & Dorsett Barnwell (10-0) will see action also in separate bouts plus much more. The "Irish Fight Party" will be LIVE at 7pm EST from one of the oldest Boxing venues in the Lehigh Valley, the EconoLodge and Conference Center in Allentown, PA. The incredible night of boxing action will be broadcasting LIVE around the WORLD on GFL.tv as well as across the Lehigh Valley LIVE on Service Electric TV. Hall of Fame Legend Larry Holmes will be doing the play by play on both GFL.tv & Service Electric TV.
