Doliguez isn?t in the mood to relax against Thai fighter By Dennis U. Eroa PhilBoxing.com Tue, 03 Dec 2013 ![]() THOUGH he?s the favorite, rising Filipino star Jun ??Hercules?? Doliguez isn?t taking Thai fighter Maxsaisai Pinsinchai (12-3, 1 KO) lightly. Fact is, Doliguez is preparing extra hard before his fight against the boxer from Nong Bua Lam Phu on December 14 at a still unnamed venue. And why not? The bout may lead to a fight against Rey ??Boom Boom?? Bautista?s conqueror Jose ??Negro?? Ramirez (25-4-15 knockouts). Ramirez recently lost to two-time Olympic Gold medalist from Ukraine Vasyl Lomachenko at the Thomas and Mack Center in Las Vegas. Saved by the Bell President Elmer Anuran, who guides Doliguez?s rise to boxing stardom, said if plans will not change the Doliguez-Ramirez bout will be part of the undercard in a huge bout between two superstars in the United States. Anuran stressed there is no confrmation of Doliguez versus Ramirez yet but it will not hurt if his ward will send the Thai to dreamland. ??I always give my best,?? said Doliguez, who like boxing legend Manny Pacquiao hails from Sarangani Province. ??Boss Elmer told me I need to beat the Thai convincingly.?? Doliguez and Anuran guested at the weekly Philippine Sportswriters Association forum last Tuesday at Shakey?s Ermita. Doliguez came from Agoncillo, Batangas where he trains at Anuran?s Touch Gloves Boxing Gym under the watchful eyes of Benny dela Pe?a and Dagul Martinez. The unbeaten Doliguez (17-0-2, 13 KOs) told sportswriters that like other boxers he entered boxing to get away from poverty and give honor to his family and country. ??I am really lucky to have Boss (Elmer). He takes cares of his boxers very well,?? said the 5-foot-7 southpaw. Doliguez earned international attention when he became the first Pinoy boxer to fight in the undercard of the Juan Manuel Marquez-Timothy Bradley fight in Las Vegas. Ramirez and Lomachenko also fought in the undercard of the bout won by Bradley. Doliguez gained thunderous applause when he knocked battle-grizzled veteran Giovanni Caro in the undercard. The explosive win actually put Doliguez back into the radar as one of the Philippines solid bets to become a world champion. It was a redemption of sorts after Doliguez managed a draw against Ruben Tamayo in his first fight outside the comforts of the Philippines last July in Yucatan, Mexico. Anuran expressed confidence that given the right breaks his ward will become a world champion in the featherweight division. ??He?s got the heart and the power to emerge on top of his division,?? noted Anuran. Doliguez is ranked number 7th by the WBO which is ruled by Mexican Orlando Salido of Zanfer Promotions. Anuran?s Saved by the Bell Promotion has a memorandum of cooperation with Zanfer which is owned by Fernando Beltran. Johnny Gonzales is WBC featherweight king, while Evgeny Gradovich reigns supreme in the IBF. But before thinking of Ramirez, who after losing to Lomachenko issued a challenge to Doliguez, the Sarangani and Batangas-pride must delight and pummel the Thai fighter. ??I know what to do sir,?? said Doliguez.
