NBA -- Warriors host Grizzlies at Oracle Arena By Wilson Alday PhilBoxing.com Thu, 21 Nov 2013 SAN FRANCISCO -- In a battle between fierce rivals, the Golden State Warriors (8-3) will face the Memphis Grizzlies (6-5) Wednesday night at the Oracle Arena in Oakland. The visiting Grizzlies hope to extend their current winning streak to four while the Warriors will shoot for their fifth consecutive victory. With a 46 percent clip, the Warriors are the league?s best behind the arc, but they will miss the services of sniper Stephen Curry against Memphis. Curry has been diagnosed with a mild concussion after bumping his head on the court in the Utah game. He is day-to-day. Without Curry, Klay Thompson, who averages 20.5 points a contest, and Andre Iguodala will carry much of the offensive load for Golden State, who figures in a tough match against the defensive minded Memphis team. ?You hope that the defense becomes the norm, which it has been for a couple years now. We take pride in it. ? Warriors head coach Mark Jackson told reporters. Defensive specialist Tony Allen will not suit up for Memphis and will serve a one-game suspension for kicking Clippers guard Chris Paul. Meanwhile, the Warriors are looking to build on their best start since the 1991-92 season. As exciting as the Warriors offense is, their defense is coming together as a unit as well. Center Andrew Bogut is protecting the middle and averaging 10 rebounds the last six games while David Lee is averaging 17.4 points and 8.9 rebounds a game.. With a tough task on hand, the Grizzlies will rely on center Marc Gasol and power forward Zach Randolph, who dropped 26 points and 15 boards against the Clippers.
