NBA -- Error-free Rose shines in return from hamstring injury
By Carla Mae Reroma PhilBoxing.com Sun, 17 Nov 2013
CHICAGO -- After a hamstring sore that sidelined him in last Friday's game against the Raptors in Toronto, Derrick Rose was a doubtful start against the Indiana Pacers on Saturday at the United Center.
But the former MVP returned to action and fashioned out an impressive performance of 20 points and four assists. Most importantly, Rose had zero turnovers as the Bulls handed the Pacers; a 110-94 beating that snapped Indy's unbeaten win streak at nine games.
Rose made 6-of-11 triples, five in the first two quarters which helped the Bulls take a commanding 60-35 halftime advantage.
Asked how he had managed to avoid turnovers, which has plagued him in this young season, Rose told PhilBoxing.com that his "preparation" was the key. Rose also had four assists in 30 minutes and 59 seconds of play.
Six other Bulls scored in double figures with Deng tallying 23 and Taj Gibson finishing with 15. Carlos Boozer had 13 while Jimmy Butler and Mike Dunleavy Jr chipped in 10 apiece.
Roy Hibbert led the Pacers with 14 points and 10 rebounds while the Bulls' defense kept Paul George at only 12 points.
Indiana now stands at 9-1 while Bulls are 5-3 after winning their fourth straight game with their 11 out of 19 three point shooting. (CMR)
