Anthony Hardy moves forward; prepares for December fight

PhilBoxing.com

Horden boxing prospect Anthony Hardy (2-0) tangled with Chris Bennett (1-1) on October 19th ? scoring a forth round knockdown and winning the fight on the scorecards.

Bennett was an equally-seasoned amateur and squared-up 1-0 pro (prior to the fight), and he gave a solid account of himself in a competitive opening three rounds. Hardy really got down to business in the forth and final round; decking the Newcastle resident and putting on an exemplar display of heart to lock in his undefeated record.

This bout, taking place at the Rainton Meadows Arena in Tyne and Wear, was scored a 39-37 decision victory for Anthony Hardy by the lone judge, Mark Curry. Bennett?s high-hopes were quickly marginalized from that of Hardy, who displayed his burgeoning boxing ability through multiple accounts in an all-around difficult outing.

In this fight, Anthony Hardy himself, along with fans, promoters, and media, were elucidated to the positive and negative qualities of Hardy, and ?The Hitman? is working hard to accentuate the first of the two words. The passion and vehemence to win tooth-and-nail fights atop the British-title playing field as well as the ring savvy to back it up in the long run.

Celebration time is long over; now it?s time to move forward.

The team of Anthony Hardy expects high-level success from their fighter, and we expect him to satisfy these desires as the 21-year-old Hardy's wins continue to accumulate. The victories over Bennett and Matt Seawright were only the beginning of what could be an extensive career run extending through the upcoming weeks, months, years, and perhaps north of a decade.

Anthony Hardy?s next fight is now scheduled, and will take place on another one of Phil Jefferies upstanding boxing shows. On December 7th in Newcastle, Hardy will look for win #3 at the Centre of Sport. In the main event Martin Ward takes on Gabriel Laryea for the vacant Commonwealth Bantamweight title.

Hardy is known for his crafty and astute style. With that said, he still mixes things up with high volume and awkward angles. He?s preparing for the December 7th as hard as he has the rest ? even prior to knowing the name of his opponent. This is all in lead up to a domestic title bout sometime late next year, but until then, every performance has the same urgency as one win could ruin it all.
