HEAVYWEIGHTS TO HEADLINE NOVEMBER 24 CARD IN TOOWOOMBA

A new crop of heavyweights are set to headline the first professional boxing card to be held in Smithy?s Gym in Toowoomba on November 24.
Toowoomba?s own ?The Hermanator? Herman Ene-Purcell will fight the main event of the Sunday afternoon card when he takes on Brisbane?s Matt Steele. Herman who is trained by Brendon Smith at Smithy?s Gym had his first fight on ?Smithy Brings the Big Fights 5? where he suffered a narrow defeat. However the power and excitement this young man carries was certainly on display and he will be looking for redemption against Matt Steele.
In the co main event, another heavyweight fight, Toowoomba?s Graham Blay, owner of Blazefit Toowoomba will battle with Rosewoods Olaf Olsen. Blay who is trained by Brandon Wood of Big Hit boxing out of Smithy?s Gym, has previously fought Josh Webb on ?Smithy Brings the Big Fights 4? where he suffered his first defeat. Now though Blay is ready to make amends when he takes on Olaf Olsen. However this will be no easy task as Olsen is the man who beat Herman in a narrow points decision and will be aiming to keep his unbeaten professional record intact when he comes to Toowoomba.
Also featuring on the card will be a stack of local talent including Ben Loxley, Jeremy Hardy, Mitchell Theryle, Shane Cadd and many more in what is sure to be a great after noon of boxing.
?We have had fights in the gym before, but this is the first time that has included professional boxing? said promoter Brendon Smith.
?I am very excited, it is a great venue with a great atmosphere and with these exciting match ups, I?m looking forward to a great afternoon of boxing on November 24?.
