PhilBoxing.com

CEBU CITY ? It turned out to be very short night for everyone when Genesis ?Azukal? Servania delivered a short right to the jaw of Rafael ?El Torito? Concepcion and knocked the Panamanian unconscious in the second round.

In the opening round, Servania landed a variety of hooks and uppercuts, sending Concepcion on the back foot from corner to corner.

Concepcion tried to bull his way inside and was warned by Referee Bruce McTavish for holding and hitting in the second.

A well-timed uppercut sent Concepcion flat on his back and Referee McTavish immediately signaled the end. Time 2:46. Concepcion was attended to by medical personnel at ringside and quickly regained consciousness. Both boxers graciously shook hands as a sign of respect after all the bluster leading up to this bout.

Concepcion was coherent and able to walk but visibly surprised by the quick ending. Servania is now 23W-0L, 9 KO?s and has the WBO Intercontinental super bantamweight belt in his possession. Concepcion drops to 18W-7L-1D, 8 KO's.

Servania wins.

Villanueva downs Martinez.

VILLANUEVA CHECKMATES MARTINEZ

?King? Arthur Villanueva, a former chess player who is known for a more calculating approach to the fight game, made a surprising fast start against Edgar ?Chololo? Martinez.

A left hook sent Martinez crashing to the canvas and Villanueva immediately pressed the advantage when the Mexican got up. A quick right straight sent Martinez down again and Referee Tony Pesons counted him out at 1:49 of the opening round.

Villanueva wins the WBO International super flyweight title and moves up to 23-0, 13 KO?s. Martinez suffered his eight career loss, with 16 wins, 10 by KO.

WBO supervisor for the two bouts was Jack Daniel Leigh and the card was supervised by sanctioned the Games and Amusements Board led by Juan Ramon Guanzon.

Bernaldez puts the pressure on Wisaruth.

Magsayo wins again.

FOR THE NON-TITLE CONTESTS:

Roli ?Zuma? Gasca knocked down Lande Olin of Indonesia twice in the opening round and two more knockdowns in the second round made Referee Teddy Alivio stop the carnage. Time 1:04.

Mark ?Machete? Bernaldez chopped Thai Khunkiri Wor Wisaruth with hooks to the body and head. In the fifth round , a deep gash on Wisaruth?s left eyebrow obscured his vision and eventually his corner signaled that they had enough later in the round. Time 2:24.

Mark ?Magnifico? Magsayo used a liver punch to stop Hagibis Quinones in the first round. Time 2:40.

Richard ?Chiwawa? Barrios won by unanimous decision against Rocky Incepido after six rounds. Scores 60-45, 60-54 and 59-55.

Elmo ?Bisdak? Traya knocked down Gabby Siempo in the first round and won by scores of 38-36, 39-35 and 39-35 after four rounds. Traya was deducted a point in the second after a clash of heads inflicted a cut on Siempo?s scalp.
