AMONSOT WINS PAN ASIAN BOXING ASSOCIATION LT. WELTER TITLE
By Ronnie Nathanielsz PhilBoxing.com Fri, 18 Oct 2013

Filipino southpaw Czar Amonsot who fights out of Australia has won the Pan Asian Boxing Association light welterweight title with a 10th round TKO of Indonesia?s Stevi Ongen Ferdinandus at the Melbourne Pavilion in Flemington, Vicoria, Australia.
In a foul-infested fight where Amonsot dropped Ferdinandus with a low blow in round two with referee Tony Maretta giving the Indonesian challenger a five minute rest period, Amonsot hammered him again with a shot well below the beltline in round six, before Ferdinandus apparently gave up at 0:44 seconds of round ten after earlier connecting with effective shots to the head before Amonsot dropped the mandatory challenger with a right.
Boxingscene?s Jake Donovan reported that Amonsot was ?a low-blow throwing machine? in a fight that ?began ugly and never got better.?
The punch that dropped Ferdinandus in round two was a vicious uppercut below the belt and it appeared that the Indonesian challenger was reluctant to continue.
Donovan reported that when Ferdinandus realized he wouldn?t get the disqualification win he was apparently looking for, he flat out quit early in round ten.
Undefeated in his last nine fights after leaving the Philippines when ALA Promotions in consideration of his safety refused to schedule fights for him after a tiny blood clot was discovered outside his brain after a classic war with Michael Katsidis in 2007 and later on suffered another head injury in an accident, Amonsot improved his record to 25-3-3 with 15 knockouts.
The 28 year old Amonsot had won the vacant title with a 3rd round knockout of Steven Willis last September 12 after earlier winning the Australian title when Addisu Tebebu retired in the 6th round after he suffered a suspected broken hand. He was also dropped in the 4th round.
