NBA Preseason -- Mavs fall to Magic at home, 102-94

SAN FRANCISCO -- The Orlando Magic raced to a 20-point first quarter lead and went on to handle the Dallas Mavericks, 102-94, at the American Airlines Center.
Maurice Harkless led a balanced Magic attack with 16 points while rookie Victor Oladipo starred with 12 points and 11 rebounds. E'Twuan Moore drilled 13 as the Magic made 38 of 73 field goals and 10 of 21 three-point shots.
Dirk Nowitzki spearheaded the Mavericks with 24 points while newly-acquired point guard Monta Ellis, who left the Milwaukee Bucks during the offseason, added 16. The Mavs came to within 73-72 after three quarter but fell short after making only 33 of their 87 shots including just 5-for-16 from 3-point range.
Both the Magic and Mavs tote a 1-2 won-lost slate in preseason play. (JSM)
