THE ?HURRICANE? IS BACK WITH A TITLE SHOT IN SIGHT PhilBoxing.com Thu, 10 Oct 2013 ![]() Brampton, Ontario, Canada - (October 8, 2013) The road to the top begins with the first step and former World Champion, Ana Julaton, takes that step on November 1, 2013 in Progresso, Yucatan, Mexico, against Perla Hernandez in a 10 round main event. Hernandez, with a record of 10 ? 5 ? 3 , with 2 Ko?s, relishes the opportunity to pull off the upset in her native, Mexico , and put her name into the mix of talented female Mexican stars that have burst onto the World boxing scene. She is on a 7 fight undefeated streak since last losing a decision back in 2009, the same year she ?outmuscled? the legendary Mia St John in winning an upset decision. She feels that fighting at home gives her a distinct advantage and that Julaton has bitten off more than she can chew. Conversely, Julaton feels quite at home in Mexico, having fought there multiple times , during which she has developed an avid following of her own. Coming off a loss in her last outing, Jualton could have chosen an easier opponent on the road back but wanted a real test to put herself back into Title contention. ?I know this fight is no walk in the park ?, said Jualton. ?Hernandez comes to fight and I will have to be stronger than last time out whilst maintaining my boxing skill set to come away with a victory. My aspiration for another shot at the Title hang in the balance and defeat is not an option?. Julaton?s, Promoter, Orion Sports Management with their partners, Yucatan Boxing having been staging shows in the Yucatan for a number of years and are delighted to have ?The Hurricane? headlining the show. Julaton brings not only local support in the Yucatan but literally millions of followers back in the Philippines where she continues to deliver exceptionally impressive TV numbers every time out. This contest will air on Solar Sports in the Philippines with broadcast details to follow. A spokesman for the network said ? it is important Ana wins and looks good in doing so? Julaton's Promoter, Allan Tremblay of Orion Sports Management said ?we have an ambitious plan for Ana to regain the World Title and this is the first step in that plan. This is a tough fight but a necessary one to get to where we want to go. A win here and we are right back in the mix. We still want her to fight for the World Title in the Philippines. That has has always been the ultimate goal?. ![]() |
