SERVANIA, VILLANUEVA PUBLIC SPARRING TODAY AT BANILAD TOWN CENTER

CEBU -- The highly-anticipated Pinoy Pride XXII aptly dubbed ?The Revenge?, will hold a Public Preview on Tuesday, October 8, 2013 at the Banilad Town Center in Cebu City. This free-to-the-public event features main event contender Genesis ?Azukal? Servania, who survived a tough fight against Japanese Konusuke Tomiyama last July in Macau and fellow stable mate ?King? Arthur Villanueva (23-0, 13 KOs).
Undefeated Servania will battle former WBA super flyweight champion Rafael "El Torito" Concepcion of Panama for the World Boxing Organization (WBO) Inter-Continental super bantamweight crown. Arthur Villanueva will go head to head with one-time world title challenger Jose Cabrera for the WBO International super flyweight belt in the co-main event.
Concepcion (18-6-1) is no stranger to Filipino boxing fans. He broke AJ ?Bazooka? Banal?s winning streak and a shot for world championship bid with a 10th round knockout five years ago.
This 3-rounder public sparring will also highlight up-and-comer Mark ?Machete? Bernaldez. Fresh from his win against last September, the young pugilist is one of the most promising boxers of the ALA Boxing stable. The 19-year-old easily finished his last two foes: Indonesians Arief Blader and Marangin Marbun. Machete knocked out Blader in the second round, while tough veteran Marbun during the first with a hard left to the midsection, prompting the stoppage at the 2:00 mark.
