WYNN MACAU PERSONNEL UNAWARE OF PACQUIAO FIGHT IN MACAU
By Dong Secuya PhilBoxing.com Sat, 20 Jan 2007
With all the publicity and hype going around in the world's boxing media about superstar Manny Pacquiao's next fight to be held at the Wynn Hotel & Casino in Macau, China, it seems that the Wynn Macau personnel are the last ones to know about it.
"Thank you for your inquiry concerning the tickets reservation for the boxing match. However, please be informed that Wynn Macau is not the venue for any boxing matches and thus is not in a position to assist you," was the reply of Jennifer Chui, Wynn Macau's Administrative Assistant to the Director of Sales and Marketing, to an e-mail inquiry of Roland Buford.
Buford, a laboratory technician who is embarking on a world tour, has sought the help of PhilBoxig.com on how to acquire tickets for the Manny Pacquiao-In Jin Chi fight which was scheduled on April 28 at the Wynn Hotel & Casino in Macau, according to boxing media articles.
"I am a big boxing fan and would like to know the venue and means of purchasing a ticket to the Aril 28, 2007 Manny Pacquiao fight vs. Jin Chi," Buford said in an e-mail. "The casino claims to have no knowledge the fight going on in China. But all of the publications I have (read) show otherwise... The casino in China and the US do not know, I called each one numerous times, Bob Arum's phones are not answering nor does the e-mail work. Is there anybody that can help me?," Buford added.
The Wynn Hotel & Casino in Macau, a $1.2 billion lush property and a branch to its popular namesake in Las Vegas, opened to the public on September 5, 2006 amid magnificent fireworks display. Arum had announced as early as September last year that Pacquiao's next fight venue will be at Wynn Macau.
It was reported a few days ago that Arum had already sent the Pacquiao-Chi fight contract to Manila for Pacquiao to sign but because of Pacquiao's extremely busy schedule, the contract remained unsigned.
