IDOL 1 headliner Mark Bernaldez signs multi-year contract PhilBoxing.com Tue, 13 Aug 2013  ALA Promotions' newest addition to their steadily growing stable of talented boxers officially sealed the deal in the ceremonial promotional contract signing last August 12, 2013. Months of preparation and years of unwavering devotion to the sport, undefeated fighter Mark Bernaldez is physically and mentally prepared for his biggest fight to date. ?I am so honored that we are chosen to fight in IDOL. I want to give a good fight and I am very thrilled to fight with such an experienced boxer?. Indonesian opponent Marangin Marbun has fought well-known fighters like Rey ?Boom-Boom? Bautista, Duangpetch Kokietgym, Glenn Poras and undefeated Joel Brunker. ?I would want to knock him out like the last Indonesian boxer I fought with but if not, that's okay too?, the super bantamweight contender added. Bernaldez, (10-0) with six knockouts will slug it out with the Indonesian fighter in an eight-rounder. Fresh from an impressive second-round knockout of Arief Blader, this young fighter is ready for battle. With 9 KO's out of 21 wins, boxing ring veteran and former Indonesia Boxing Association Champion Marangin ?Dinamita? Marbun is set to put up an exciting fight against the younger opponent. IDOL Boxing Series is a new TV sensation brought to us by premier boxing promotions outfit, ALA Promotions. Shown bi-monthly, this will showcase budding boxing talents from all over the country. IDOL 1 Philippines vs Indonesia first live event will be on August 24 at the Big Square Arena in Escalante, Negros, with a 2-hour long telecast on September 14, Saturday, 12:00 noon ? 2:00 pm on Studio 23.
