AUSSIE PROMOTER PETER MANIATIS IN P.I. TO PLOT PETALCORIN'S NEXT FIGHTS PhilBoxing.com Fri, 19 Jul 2013 ![]() Award winning Australian Promoter and Media host Peter Maniatis arrives in Manila today and plans to stay in country for three weeks. Maniatis is the current TV Host of C31 KO Boxing show and also Co-Host of Radio boxing show on SEN Melbourne. 'Maniatis C31 KO Boxing Show' recently celebrated over 500 episodes airing from the beginning of 2012 as a weekly show till present. "The Asia boxing scene is looking very healthy and blooming at the moment with Top Rank investing heavily to promote cards in Macau and include Filipino boxers on there promotions," said Peter Maniatis. "The one concern for boxing in the Philippines is the insurance cover for injured boxers. In Australia the ANBF put aside money every month for the injured boxers fund. This could be something GAB boxing officials should look at very closely... there are a number of ways to make it work but you need GAB backing," said Maniatis. Maniatis also plans to meet up with Jim Managquil, who manages Randy Petalcorin along with Maniatis, and plan the next step for Petalcorin to prepare to fight sometime soon for WBA Title and also talks will include a trip to Australia. International Giant company UltraTune CEO Sean Buckley is getting involved in helping with promotion of boxers. Sean Buckley is also a owner of many champion race horses and owns a leading stud farm. Buckley is a big supporter of Boxing and Kick Boxing and is one of the most successful business men in Australia. "The big picture is to get UltraTune Head Honcho Sean Buckley involved with Randy Petalcorin once Randy arrives in Australia. Sean Buckley has made UltraTune a International company with service centres all over Australia and now Indonesia and Bahrain and Dubai. With Sean involved with Randy, we can almost Guarantee a WBA world title shot for Petalcorin. "Petalcorin is very fan friendly style fighter and currently WBA #2 in the World and WBO #7 in the world yet, it's hard to get him on fight card promotions in the Philippines. The goal here is keep Randy as active as possible a call could come any day for a World title shot when you sit placed at WBA #2 in the world," Maniatis said. Maniatis eyes Alberto Rossell as Petalcorin's next opponent. Rossell is turning 35 years old in a few weeks and has 8 losses on his record and would be a ideal test and opponent for Petalcorin to fight for a WBA Light Flyweight interim World Title according to Maniatis. Petalcorin resides in General City Santos and lives at the Sandman gym and adopts a spartan lifestyle to prepare for his bouts and is ready to fight for WBA World title in the future.
