WORDS EXCHANGED AS FIGHT HYPE BUILDS PhilBoxing.com Fri, 31 May 2013 ![]() Chris George. He may be the one with the undefeated record and the one with the hometown advantage, but the camp of Newcastle boxer Dean ?The baby faced assassin? Cambridge firmly believes Toowoomba boy Kris ?The Silencer? George has bitten off far more then he can chew. As the hype before their clash next Friday night on ?Smithy Brings the Big Fights 4? builds, team Cambridge this week released a statement warning George not to underestimate their charge. ?I think my fighter Dean ?the Baby Faced Assassin? Cambridge will be too good for Kris George? said Cambridge?s legendary trainer from Newcastle, Neville Short. ?If he thinks he is going to have an easy night that will be his downfall.? Cambridge himself was less friendly in what he had to say about next Friday?s fight. ?My experience I feel will be far too Superior for Kris. I plan to take him into deep water then f****n drown him? said Cambridge. Kris George however expressed his own confidence when told of what Cambridge and his team had to say. ?I hope his experience helps him through because otherwise it could get ugly? said George. ?I am in peak condition and believe it will take a better man then Dean to challenge me let alone drown me? he said with a giggle. This confidence also resonates with his trainer Craig Monagle. ?Kris will be ready for anything that comes at him and you will see that next Friday night? said Monagle. ?Let?s see if he can send Dean back in to retirement?. Not only will this card feature world class professional boxing, but Toowoomba?s own local rugby league players will also take to the ring In two separate ?tag team? fights with Souths Tigers against Valleys Roosters and Pittsworth Danes taking on the Toowoomba Clydesdales. Each club has nominated two players to don the gloves next Friday night carrying with them, the pride of their club and their own reputation. While there is a noble cause underlying these events with each club raising money for charity, there will be no charity inside the ring with players beginning their own war of words on Facebook. ?These two fights could well become the fights of the night? said promoter Brendon Smith. ?Each player has their reputation at stake and I?m sure we can expect fireworks when they step into the ring.? This fight will take place on the undercard of ?Smithy Brings the big Fights 4? which will be headlined by current WBF world Middleweight champion and WBO world number 8 Les ?Lock N Load? Sherrington when he takes on Paraguay champion Jorge Gomez Perez. The undercard will also feature the exciting international matchup between Philippine star Jack ?The Assassin? Asis against Argentina?s Jose Saez. Crowd pleaser Will Young will take on James Kinsela. In a battle of the locals Josh Webb will square off with Graham Blay and another adopted local originally from England Darren Askew will take on current Qld champ Mark Ramirez.
