Singapore, May 29, 2013 ? The National Basketball Association (NBA) today announced Standard Chartered Bank as presenting partner of the inaugural NBA 3X Singapore 2013, which will take place at Ngee Ann City Civic Plaza from June 21 ? 23. NBA 3X Singapore 2013 presented by Standard Chartered Bank is part of the league?s global fan development event which combines free authentic NBA entertainment and experiences with a 3-on-3 tournament.

NBA 3X Singapore 2013 presented by Standard Chartered Bank will feature appearances by New Orleans Pelicans (formerly the New Orleans Hornets) teammates Robin Lopez and Greivis V?squez, the world-famous Laker Girls from the Los Angeles Lakers, and Denver Nuggets? mascot Rocky the Mountain Lion.

Standard Chartered Bank joins other new event official partners DUO Rewards: a unique automotive rewards program from Tan Chong International; Bauerfeind, one of the world's leading manufacturers of medical aids; and PSA International, one of the leading global port groups and the port operator of choice in the world's gateway hubs.

Vasquez ? the Pelicans? starting point guard ? was selected 28th overall in the 2010 NBA Draft and holds the distinction as the first Venezuelan-born player drafted into the NBA. Lopez ? the Pelicans? seven-foot tall starting center ? was originally selected 15th overall by the Phoenix Suns in the 2008 NBA Draft. Lopez and his brother Brook of the Brooklyn Nets are the first set of twins chosen in the first round of the same NBA draft.

?I?m very excited to visit Singapore for NBA 3X and help celebrate the game I love so much,? said Lopez. ?I hear Singapore has a loyal contingent of NBA fans and I look forward to bringing the excitement of the NBA to the country and witnessing a tremendous display of local basketball talent.?

?With a strong history of promoting sport worldwide, Standard Chartered Bank is an ideal partner for NBA 3X Singapore,? said Scott Levy, Senior Vice President and Manager Director, NBA Asia. ?Thanks to the support of our partners, fans in Singapore can look forward to a unique event that captures the entertainment and excitement of the NBA.?

"We're very excited to partner with the NBA to bring the NBA 3X to Singapore,? said Ray Ferguson, CEO Singapore, Standard Chartered Bank. ?Sports resonate across all the markets we operate in, and they have been great platforms for engaging staff, business partners, customers and the community. Basketball is one of Singapore's most popular team sports and we're looking forward to a fantastic experience for all the participants and spectators."
