NBA -- Pacers oust Knicks, punch ticket to East Finals

NEW YORK -- The Indiana Pacers eliminated the New York Knicks from this year's playoffs following a 106-99 victory in Game 6 of their Eastern Conference semifinal Saturday night at the Conseco Fieldhouse in downtown Indianapolis..
With the 4-2 series win, the Pacers secured a ticket to the Eastern Conference Finals against the defending champions Miami Heat. That best-of-seven affair begins with Game 1 Wednesday at the American Airlines Arena in Miami.
Lance Stephenson led Indiana with a career-high 25 points and 10 rebounds while All-Star Paul George scored 23. Roy Hibbert. Indy's 7-foot-2 center, dominated the paint with 21 points, 12 rebounds and five blocked shots.
Veteran David West also had 17 for the Pacers while George Hill, who missed Game 5 due to a concussion he suffered in Game 4, returned to the lineup with a modest contribution of 12 points and five assists.
Carmelo Anthony led the Knicks 39 points on 15-for-29 shooting while Iman Shumpert added 19 points including four huge threes that allowed the Knicks to come back from a 12-point third quarter deficit. J.R.Smith chipped in 15 markers but no other Knick finished in double figures scoring.
The Indiana Pacers dominated the glass with a 43-36 advantage. They notched seven blocked shots to the Knicks' zero. They also attempted 46 free throws to the Knicks' 18.
The Pacers told reporters during their post-game press conference that they are looking forward to a rematch with the Miami Heat, who eliminated the Pacers last year in six games. (RS)
