NBA - Heat D pull Game 3 W By Maria Macatangay PhilBoxing.com Sat, 11 May 2013 ![]() CHICAGO -- Tied at 70-70 heading into the final quarter of Friday night's Game 3, the Chicago Bulls put themselves in a position to pull a huge upset over the Miami Heat before a sold-out crowd of 22, 675 at a frenzied United Center. But when the smoke cleared in a highly physical encounter between two bitter rivals, it was the defending champion Heat who left the building with a 104-94 victory and a 2-1 lead in this best-of-seven Eastern Conference semifinal. The Heat offense, which turned in 104 points on 50 percent field goal shooting, was above average against the stingy Bulls, but it was the Miami defense that sealed the deal in the fourth quarter. The Heat held the Bulls to 24 points in the final 12 minutes and just 35-of-77 from the field overall. Miami also defended the 3-point line well, limiting Chicago to just 7-for-22. Carlos Boozer paced the Bulls with 21 points while Jimmy Butler, who played 48 minutes for the fourth time in five games, added 17. But Nate Robinson and Marco Belinelli, who were thrust into the starting unit in the absence of Derrick Rose, Luol Deng and Kirk Hinrich, were shot just 10 of 26 from the field. They finished with a combined 33 points but they also missed nine of 14 attempts from 3-point range. LeBron James missed 11 of 17 shots but he still managed 25 points, eight rebounds and seven assists. James and Norris Cole nailed a three-point shot each late ti quell a Bulls rally. Cole came off the bench with 18 on 6-of-7 shooting. Dwyane Wade finished with 10 points for the Heat, who remained unbeaten, 3-0, on the road in these playoffs. The Heat go for the commanding 3-0 lead when the series resumes with Game 4 Monday night at the United Center.
