NBA -- Knicks win 13 straight, capture division title

NEW YORK -- The New Knicks won the Atlantic Division title Tuesday night at the Madison Square Garden, a feat the one-time Eastern Conference powerhouse hasn't accomplished since 1994.
The 51-26 Knicks reached the milestone by beating the 29-49 Washington Wizards, 120-99. The Knicks now own the NBA's longest active winning streak at 13.
The Knicks shot lights out from 3-point range -- 20 of 36 for a whopping 56 percent. Their 20 threes tied a franchise record for a single game.
All-Star Carmelo Anthony led New York with 36 points, eight rebounds and six assists. He shot 13 of 21 field goals and his streak of scoring 35 points or more has now reached five games, a feat last accomplished by New York Hall-of-Famer Bernard King.
Iman Shumpert had 18 points for the Knicks while Chris Copeland and JR Smith had 17 apiece. Pablo Prigione added five points and five assists.
John Wall led the Wizards with 33 points.
Up next for the Knicks is a trip to Chicago against the Bulls Thursday night. (RS)
