Chris John not looking past Hosono By Brett Bonetti PhilBoxing.com Mon, 08 Apr 2013 ![]() WBA World Featherweight Champion Chris ?The Dragon? John (48-0-2, 22 KO?s) is in Jakarta and his ready for his next challenge in Japan?s big punching Satoshi ?Bazooka? Hosono (23-2, 17 KO?s) in the Main event of the Dragon Fire Promotions card at the Senayan Indoor Tennis Stadium this Sunday. The Dragon is one of the greatest boxers to ever emerge from Indonesia and says he is excited to be back competing in the city where his boxing career began back in 1998. ?I can?t wait, I love fighting in Indonesia in front of my family and friends,? John said. John remains one of the biggest draws in Asia and attracted big crowds for two title defenses at the Marina Bay Sands Singapore in 2012. Last November, The WBA Fighter of the Decade successfully defended his title against previously unbeaten Chonlatarn Piriyapinyo (44-1, 27 KO's). It was the future Hall of Famer 17th successful title defense. Hosono has challenged unsuccessfully for a world title twice before and will be looking to make it third time lucky by handing John his first professional career loss. "Hosono is a very dangerous boxer and a big puncher and I must be at the top of my game when I fight him this Sunday,? John said. John says he has a lot of respect for Hosono?s punching power. ?He never stops attacking and is a big puncher, I have great respect for all Japanese boxers, they are warriors but we have been preparing long and hard for everything so as long as we stick to the game plan we won?t have a problem,? John said. John?s place in the records of boxing history is secure and there has been talk of retirement but ?The Dragon? is not ready to hang up his gloves and as he approaches the 51st fight of his stellar career. ?I am ready to fight anyone, anywhere, anytime,? John said. In the Dragon Fire Promotions Co-Main Event, John?s compatriot Daud ?Cino? Yordan (30-2, 23 KO?s) will be defending his IBO Featherweight Title against South African Simpiwe ?V12? Vetyeka (24-2, 14 KO?s). More information can be found at www.dragonfire.com or ?Like? the Dragon Fire Boxing Facebook Page.
